Competition for students of the Polish Academies of Fine Arts, Warsaw & Gdańsk
In Poland, both art and vodka transcend the boundaries of their respective industries – they are ingredients that contribute to our cultural identity. Throughout Poland’s history, art has been a visual language expressing an essence of the national spirit. In a similar way, vodka has grown to be an integral part of Poland’s cultural expression; where art has represented the Polish mind, vodka has embodied the soil – the body of the nation.
Through a collaboration between Chopin Vodka and the Academies of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Gdańsk, vodka and art unite. In the “Glass Canvas” project, students will utilise the form of the Chopin Vodka bottle in realisation works of art and design. The artwork may take the form of an interpretation of the ‘etiquette’ (the information placed on the bottle), it may be an artistic installation built around the glass, or perhaps an entirely new bottle design will be conjured – the students have complete freedom to utilise the bottle in their artwork.
The aim is simple, Chopin vodka loves art and wants to encourage the development of young artistic talent. We want to celebrate our exceptional culture of art. In the spirit of Chopin vodka, we hope that some of the submissions will demonstrate that distinctive spark of inspiration that distinguishes them from the others. With prize pool that includes a new MacBook Air, iPad or iPhone, we look forward to toasting the winners!
